StaffMarq staffmarq

// margin tracking for outsourcing teams

Bill rate minus real cost. Finally simple.

StaffMarq shows outsourcing and agency teams the live margin on every employee, project, client and partner, across countries and currencies, without a spreadsheet or an ERP.

No credit card. Import your team and read margin the same day.

// the problem

Spreadsheets hide your real margin.

Around 4 in 10 agencies never track profitability at the project level. Most outgrow the spreadsheet somewhere between $500K and $2M in revenue.

salary is not cost
Taxes and employer contributions push real cost well above take-home pay, so margins look healthier than they are.
partners eat the margin
Subcontractor and partner commissions, plus shared tools, quietly reduce what you keep, and a spreadsheet rarely attributes them.
you find out too late
The numbers live across billing, payroll and time logs, so margin is always backward-looking. By the time you spot a problem, the project is over.

// what you get

Built to show what actually makes money.

01

Margin per employee, project, client & partner

One live view of direct and loaded margin. Drill into any person, project, client or partner, filter by date, report in one currency.

02

True employer cost

Enter net pay and StaffMarq derives gross and full employer cost through a country-aware tax engine. Start from a prefilled template or define your own.

03

Partner & subcontractor margins

Model partner and subcontractor commissions as first-class, so their cut shows up in your margin instead of hiding in a side spreadsheet.

04

Costs allocated honestly

Split a subscription or a laptop across the people who use it. Whatever you don’t allocate shows as overhead, never buried.

05

No guessed cost rates

Other tools ask you to type in a cost rate. StaffMarq derives it from real salary and taxes, so the margin is grounded, not a guess.

06

Multi-currency that doesn’t drift

Bill in one currency, pay in another, report in a third. Past rates are stored, so last quarter’s margin never silently changes.

// how it works

It’s billing minus the real cost. Nothing hidden.

project billing

What each person bills

Their rate and cadence on every project, in whatever currency you bill.

fully-loaded cost

What each person costs

Net salary grossed up to true employer cost, plus their allocated share of tools and overhead.

live margin

What you actually keep

Per employee, project and client. Any date range, one reporting currency.

Set it up in three moves: import people and their real costs, add clients and project rates, then read the margin. CSV import is built in, so the first numbers land the same day.

// who it’s for

Built for outsourcing firms that bill per project.

The simple margin layer that sits one step above spreadsheets and one step before a heavy PSA or EOR.

a good fit

  • Outsourcing and staff-augmentation firms, agencies and consultancies billing per project
  • Teams that need margin by employee, project, client and partner
  • Cross-border teams paying and billing in several currencies

works alongside, never replaces

  • Your payroll or EOR. StaffMarq models cost, it doesn’t run payroll.
  • Your PM and time tracking. Bring the hours, we do the margin.
  • Your invoicing. We track margin, not accounts-receivable.

Live in an afternoon. Import people and costs and read margin the same day, not next quarter.

Works with your stack. Sits on top of your payroll, PM and invoicing, it doesn’t replace them.

Nothing overwritten. Every salary, rate and cost is effective-dated.

// faq

Questions, answered.

What does StaffMarq actually calculate?

For any date range it computes revenue from your billing rates, the true cost of each person (salary grossed up to full employer cost, plus their allocated share of tools and overhead), partner and subcontractor commissions, and the resulting margin per employee, project, client and partner, in one reporting currency.

How is "true employer cost" different from salary?

Salary is only part of the picture. StaffMarq derives gross pay and total employer cost from net using a country-specific tax engine, then adds each person’s allocated share of subscriptions, equipment and other costs. That loaded figure is what you compare against billing, instead of a cost rate you guessed.

Do you handle subcontractors and partner commissions?

Yes, and they are first-class. Set a partner or subcontractor’s commission and their margin shows up right next to your employees, projects and clients, so outsourced work is never a blind spot.

Do I have to replace my payroll, PSA or PM tool?

No. StaffMarq sits on top of the tools you already run. Keep your payroll provider, project tool and invoicing. StaffMarq is the simple layer that tells you whether you are actually making money.

Which countries are supported for employer cost?

You can define a tax profile for any country, and we ship prefilled templates for priority markets (North Macedonia, Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria, Germany, the UK and more) so you can clone and tweak instead of starting from scratch.

Who is StaffMarq for?

Outsourcing and staff-augmentation firms, agencies, software and dev shops, and consultancies that bill clients per project and need to know which people, projects, clients and partners actually make money.

Read your real margin by the end of the day.

Create a workspace, import your team, and see live profitability per employee, project and client.
